These earrings are inspired by the jewelry worn by Caroline Bonaparte Murat (sister of Napoleon) in the early 19th Century portrait shown in full in the last image.

I've used glass Lapis Lazuli beads for these earrings, with a rich deep blue color and shimmering gold inclusions. They are finished with my leverbacks (shown), hoops (which  match the historical originals) or clip-ons.

The length, including the closure, is about 1 2/3 inches or 4.5cm long. They have lots of movement thanks to the dangles, and dance around as you turn and move your head.

These are such versatile earrings- perfect for reenactments or everyday wear. It's a great way to inject a little historical beauty into your everyday wardrobe. And it's always fun to tell people that your jewelry is inspired by a Bonaparte!
