Renaissance Pearl and Gold Earrings - Titian Inspired
These earrings are inspired by the 1550s portrait of a "Woman Holding an Apple" by Titian (National Gallery of Art, Washington DC).
Her Pearl teardrop earrings feature additional golden elements for extra interest!
My version is made with shell pearls (these are made from the Nacre of shells so have the beautiful luster of pearls without the price!). They feature additional gold-plated elements like a textured bead and filigree cap at the bottom to echo the original earrings.
These are available on a hoop finding (shown) but can also be made with leverbacks or with clip-on findings.
These earrings measure about 1.5" long, including the finding.
